March 10, 2001 , President's Address

The Jean Gordon PTO hosted Kite day on March 10, 2001. The weather was great for flying kites. Our student council sold two hundred kites and the kids and Gordon family members came out. It was a grand time with parents and kids riding scooters.

In addition to flying kites, the smaller kids had fun on the space walk. The scouts held their derby car race and trophy's were given to the winners. The boys had such fun and it was a pleasure to watch. We had lots of food and fun. To all those who could not make kite day, you missed a great time.

We are now beginning preparations for our Big Heart Award Reception where we will honor the Jean Gordon volunteers. This reception will take place in conjunction with National Volunteer Week. We are planning a fun time and the girl scouts will assist by providing the Big Red Hearts which will be used to decorate the school with pictures of our award recipients. Make plans to attend.
