In the summer of '94 not everyone was at the beach swimming, in fact the teachers from Ben Franklin Elem. were busy as bees working to get a huge project started about the weather. The Weather Channel was a huge help by donating the materials and equipment that we would need to get the project off the ground.
They also hooked us up with a sister school in Macon, Georgia to study weather with us. The reason why the Weather Channel helped us was because it was really good for us and it was great for them too! There was a one hour live telecast here at Ben Franklin at the end of the project that was nationaly televised to help teach kids all around the United States about the weather.
