New Email, Freenet closes

Franklin is losing its Internet service provider, the Greater New Orleans FreeNet, at the end of this month. As a result of the state's latest budget cuts, the FreeNet will be closing down effective August 31st. They have arranged for a local business to house our site as well as other school and non-profit sites. You may use the same web address and will be re-directed automatically to the new address, We will have a new email:

bfsenior@yahoo.com

Ben Franklin was a pilot site for the FreeNet and the first local school to have a website with them. They have trained many of our teachers and thousands throughout the region. In addition they have provided internet access and email for the staff. Four of Franklin's student webmasters have been hired as staff by the FreeNet over the years. They have been instrumental in helping Franklin enter the internet as a leader in this region. We will miss them and give thanks to all employees and board members for their dedication over these years.
