Cabrini High School

Guidance and Counseling

The Guidance and Counseling Department provides academic and personal support services to students in all grade levels. In today's world, schools cannot expect their youth to succeed academically or grow spiritually without providing resources for personal development and life skills. Students are helped to identify their educational abilities, aptitudes, interests, and needs, and to set appropriate goals. In Junior and Senior years, students are assisted with the college application process and provided with current financial aid and scholarship information. Career Day is held each year to expose students on all grade levels to many different career options. Cabrini High also participates in the Archdiocesan College Night that provides students with an opportunity to meet with representatives from many colleges and universities.

The Guidance and Counseling Department provides assistance to students who may have difficulty with the emotional and social concerns of adolescence. Our social worker sees students on an individual short-term basis when a need is identified. Support groups focus on the issues and interests of our students. Referrals are provided to students and families for counseling or support services in the community if a concern needs ongoing attention. The Students Against Drugs and Alcohol Club is moderated by the counselors and provides students with current drug and alcohol information and sponsors school-wide prevention activities throughout the year.
