On November 20th and 21st, the very first Highland Games of Louisiana will take place in Jackson, LA. I hope that as many of you a possible will attend. CSONO will have a tent at the games. As I understand it, accommodation are VERY limited. Please call Paul Arrigo at 1-800-527-6843 AND/OR the West Feliciana Parish Tourist Bureau at 225-635-4749 for information on accommodations. More details on the games will be provided later (thanks to Tom Campbell of Caledonian Soc. of Acadiana for addition game info).
On Sunday, November 28th, the CSONO will sponsor an afternoon tea to celebrate St. Andrew's Day. Tell your friends and plan to attend. More on that at a later date. We will hold our annual CSONO Ceilidh on Friday, December 10th at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Hall of St. Francis Xavier Church, 444 Metairie Road. This will be a pot-luck dinner. We are planning our annual Burns' Night gala celebration, which will be held on January 22, 2000 at the Chateau Estates Country Club beginning at 6:30 p.m.
As you can see, there are a lot of activities planned for the next six months, which will give us ample opportunities to meet together an celebrate our Scottish heritage. I look forward to seeing all of you and hope that these events will bring many new friends to the CSONO this coming year.
