Youth Programs – Aquatics

Registration for swim lessons is required prior to the first day of the session. See page 7 for a description of swim lesson levels.

Parent/Child Water Orientation

(ages 6 months – 36 months)

The primary objective of this class is to get parent and child comfortable in the water. Children will be exposed to games that develop kicking, arm strokes, and breath control. Parents will learn how to teach their child how to be safe in and around the water and assist their child in the development of motor skills. Rain make-up day is Friday, if needed.

Pre school Swim Lessons (ages 3 – 5)

Children learn the basic skills that are the building blocks of swimming. They also learn about pool safety, boating safety, and the use of personal flotation devices. Students are divided into skill levels. Rain make-up day is Friday, if needed.

Youth Swim Lessons (ages 6 – 12)

Participants are divided into classes depending on their current skill level. This complete aquatic program covers stroke development, personal safety, personal growth, water sports and games, and rescue.

Rain make-up day is Friday, if needed.

Advanced levels: Fish, Flying Fish, and Shark.)

Lagniappe Lessons

Swimming is something for everyone, even those who need a little extra. These lessons are designed for individuals with disabilities that may require a little extra attention. Receive a one-on-one lesson with a trained instructor.

Swim Lessons—Private and Semi-Private
