Fitness Classes

at the Superdome

Classes are ongoing. All aerobic classes are free to Full Service Members and Program Members can register monthly. Program Members’ fees are as follows:

Basic Step

A basic introduction at an intermediate level to the step class.

Date: Monday & Friday

Time: 11:40 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.


A 50 minute muscle toning workout using weight, rubber bands, and body resistance.

Date: Tuesday and Thursday

Time: 11:40 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Abs Only

A class to find those abs and concentrate on creating a strong core. This class will help strengthen the muscles that support everything we do.

Date: Tuesday and Thursday

Time: 12:30 p.m. – 1 p.m.

Basic Training

A circuit class designed to focus on cardiovascular and strength training. The class involves the use of callisthenic exercises and heavy weights. It's time to get back to the basics.

Date: Tuesday and Thursday

Time: 5:45 p.m. – 6:45 p.m.

Circuit Training

A class utilizing step and strength training. The class alternates between cardiovascular and muscular training at a 3:1 ratio. This utilizes both aerobic and anaerobic training.

Date: Wednesday

Time: 11:40 a.m.–12:30 p.m.


A beginner to intermediate class that will increase the flexibility of your joint range of motion and will help relieve your mental and physical tension.

Date: Wednesday

Time: 5:15 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.

Personal Fitness Program

The YMCA Personal Fitness Program is an individualized program designed specifically for adults who are new or returning exercisers. The program is designed to help the individual move toward the behavior and mindset of a regular exerciser. The physical component of the program consists of a step-by-step, machine-based cardio-vascular and muscle conditioning program that provides the structure and progression needed by many individuals. It is recommended that participants exercise three times per week. All participants are assigned a wellness coach who conducts four one-on-one appointments with them during the 12 weeks. In addition to these structured appointments, there is a trained staff person on duty in the exercise area to assist and support the participants.
